Steve Neville had three spells with Exeter City.

Steve Neville first came to Exeter City in 1978, coming from Southampton for a fee of £15,000. He then signed for Sheffield United in October 1980 for a fee of £80,000.

His second spell as a Grecian came in October 1982, initially on loan but then signed for £10,000. He left in November 1984 to join Bristol City for a fee of £12,000 with Trevor Morgan coming to Exeter as part of that deal.

His third spell at Exeter was in July 1988, and he also became an assistant player-manager to Terry Cooper in 1989. He was a member of the fourth Division championship winning team. He had a testimonial match in May 1991, when Manchester City were the visitors to St James’ Park.
